Two-in-One Mascara by velvetrendezvous

I never bother with “designer” mascaras anymore, some of them work great but they don’t do anything that a drugstore mascara doesn’t do -for a fraction of the price!
I used to love YSL‘s Faux Cils and Make-Up Forever‘s Smokey Lash, but these two dry up in no time – even before I get my 3-months usage out of them, which is very frustrating and is a waste of money.

Now that that’s off my chest. Here’s my latest cheapo mascara obsession:

Rimmel London‘s Day 2 Night mascara

This mascara has two brushes in one tube (a la MAC‘s Haute & Naughty – never tried it – mascara is not their forte). The lengthening brush is supposed to be worn in the daytime and the volume brush for night. I use both brushes at the same time, one coat of the lengthening and two of the volumizing. My lashes are long but a bit lacking in the volume department. This mascara does WONDERS for my lashes, they open up my eyes like no other and they don’t smudge in this awful heat.

If you’re looking for a new mascara, I would give this one a try!

Available at Boots for QR 45.

Rant: My only gripe with drugstore mascaras is that they come with no packaging and they have to tape them in order for people not to mess with them, which I appreciate of course, BUT, when you remove the tape, it leaves this horrible sticky residue that gathers dirt/powder/stuff from your make-up bag. I know that’s not the case in the States or Europe, why can’t we get decent packaging in the Middle East?

It’s hard to find Arabic make-up that isn’t clown-ish and tacky. I’m glad that YouTube’s Beauty Gurus are showing their take on our make-up but making it actually wearable and glamorous at the same time, like the way it was intended.

Pixi2woo and Pixiwoo have both done tutorials for Arabic make-up.

Please note that these looks are best suitable for weddings and parties, not for college or to go to the mall.

I highly recommend subscribing to these girls, I love watching their tutorials and beauty/make-up reviews.
